I read this and loved the idea. I can't wait to find clever ideas to help someone each and everyday in November so, I'm not going to wait! I'm going to start today! PLEASE read this article from http://kingdomfirstmom.com/2009/10/november-30-day-giving-challenge.html and get inspired!
November: 30-Day Giving Challenge Recently after my new perspective post, I was pondering how to focus more on giving here on Keeping the Kingdom First. After all, those who put God’s Kingdom first in their lives should naturally be seeking ways to bless others as much as possible, right?
So this past Sunday, while listening to my pastor conclude a series on Matthew 16, he mentioned generosity as one of 6 key factors of being a Christian. My ears perked up and I immediately thought of my blog.
He went on to suggest a 30-day challenge:
Spend 30 days with a journal in your hand. Try it for the next 30 days and see if I’m not lying. Take a journal and just jot down everything you give. Every time you find yourself being generous, write it down. Every time you feel prompted by God to give something you never would, or why would I buy THAT many cookies… from the Girl Scouts. I don’t know why, God just gave you the prompting to do something special for somebody! Write it down.
And then write down on the other side every time something comes back to you. Every time the cycle gets completed. Do it for 30 days, and you’ll never be the same again. You’ll never look at giving the same way again.

Next month is November, which just so happens to have 30 days and also includes Thanksgiving. A light bulb went off in my mind. The 30-Day Giving Challenge was born, right there in church.
I am challenging myself, and whoever wants to jump on board, to grab a journal next month and GIVE in some fashion every day in November. This could be large or small, simple or extravagant.
If you have a blog, I welcome you to accept the challenge or simply help spread the word!
Here is how it will work:
On Sunday, November 1st, I will post a Mr. Linky and invite all participants to RSVP.
Post about the challenge on your blog, with a few ideas about how you plan to give each day.

November: 30-Day Giving Challenge Recently after my new perspective post, I was pondering how to focus more on giving here on Keeping the Kingdom First. After all, those who put God’s Kingdom first in their lives should naturally be seeking ways to bless others as much as possible, right?
So this past Sunday, while listening to my pastor conclude a series on Matthew 16, he mentioned generosity as one of 6 key factors of being a Christian. My ears perked up and I immediately thought of my blog.
He went on to suggest a 30-day challenge:
Spend 30 days with a journal in your hand. Try it for the next 30 days and see if I’m not lying. Take a journal and just jot down everything you give. Every time you find yourself being generous, write it down. Every time you feel prompted by God to give something you never would, or why would I buy THAT many cookies… from the Girl Scouts. I don’t know why, God just gave you the prompting to do something special for somebody! Write it down.
And then write down on the other side every time something comes back to you. Every time the cycle gets completed. Do it for 30 days, and you’ll never be the same again. You’ll never look at giving the same way again.

Pumpkin Waffles
These sound great! I love Fall! I love pumpkins!
Pumpkin Waffles
2 cups flour (I used 1 cup white flour & 1 cup wheat flour)
3 tablespoons brown sugar
2 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon baking soda
2 teaspoons pumpkin pie spice
1 1/2 cups milk
1 cup pumpkin puree (I used canned pumpkin)
1 egg
2 tablespoons canola oil
1 1/2 teapsoons vanilla
Mix together milk, pumpkin, egg, oil and vanilla in one bowl. Combine flour, brown sugar, baking powder, baking soda and pumpkin pie spice in another bowl. Stir dry ingredients into pumpkin mixture and cook on waffle iron according to waffle iron directions.

2 teaspoons pumpkin pie spice
1 1/2 cups milk
1 cup pumpkin puree (I used canned pumpkin)
1 egg
2 tablespoons canola oil
1 1/2 teapsoons vanilla
Mix together milk, pumpkin, egg, oil and vanilla in one bowl. Combine flour, brown sugar, baking powder, baking soda and pumpkin pie spice in another bowl. Stir dry ingredients into pumpkin mixture and cook on waffle iron according to waffle iron directions.

Omaha World Herald Deal
Wow! I almost forgot to post this hot deal! Walgreens has an envelope that says Omaha World Herald on it and a great deal inside by the weekly ads as you walk in the door. If you prepay for a 26 week sunday paper to be delivered to your house for $49.40 ($1.90 a sunday paper instead of $2) which is a deal in itself you will recieve a $20 Walgreens gift card which makes the paper $1.13 each! I probally get most of my coupons from the sunday paper and I save alot more than a $1.13 a week. Also you can prepay for a 52 week and get a $40 Walgreens gift card. You could probally call in and get the same deal if you mention it to the operator. I think this deal lasts till the end of the year but, you better get a form today to make sure. I will also check at Walgreens next week when I go shopping and let you know.

Egg Roll Anyone?
Yesterday I found this recipe for baked egg rolls ( thanks thesuburbanjungle.blogspot.com) and you might or might not know I LOVE egg rolls so, I am going to give this a try on my next shopping trip. I just can't justify spending a $1.25 for a eggroll when we eat out or buy a box for $4. I will let you know how they turn out after next week.
Baked Egg Rolls
2 Egg roll wrapper packets (30 total)
1 pound lean ground pork1/3 pound lean ground turkey (or beef)
1 head green cabbage
1 head purple cabbage
1 green onion
2 carrots
3 eggs
1tsp black pepper
2 tsp salt
1 tsp marjoram
1 tsp savory
1 tsp sage
1 tsp ginger
1 crushed and minced garlic clove
1 tsp sugar
Brown the meats in a large pan, drain any fat, then add spices and seasonings. Chop up all the cabbages and onion. Peel and shred the carrots. Add all the vegetables to the pan and cook until the veggies are soft. They will reduce in size quite a bit.Separate one egg white into a small bowl. Beat the yolk and 2 whole eggs. Move the veggies aside in the pan and scramble the eggs in the pan. Then mix the whole thing together. Fill the egg roll wrappers and fold them up. Seal the ends with the saved egg white.Spray a baking sheet with oil spray (we used olive oil spray). Lightly coat the egg rolls with oil spray and heat at 500* for 8-10 minutes, then flip and cook for 8-10 minutes on the other side. Bake to desired crispiness.This recipe usually makes about 25-26 egg rolls.

Walgreens has coupons that print out at the register when you buy certain items. These coupons are called Register Rewards. These Register Rewards (RR for short) can be used on your next purchase. For example: You buy a RR deal toothpaste for $3 and you recieve $3 RR from the print out at the checkout, you can take that RR coupon and use it on the next purchase you make $3 or more before the RR expires. You will not recieve another RR if you use it on that same product but, you can use it on a different RR product. Free YoCrunch!
Just mail in any of your kids Halloween candy wrappers for a coupon for a free YoCrunch Yogurt. You can mail in your wrappers during the two weeks following Halloween. My son is excited to try these! Thanks to momsbyheart.com for this tip.
MY MENU PLAN
Here is my menu plan. Mine is not as organized as others but, here I go!
Monday: Chicken Noodles, sliced oranges.
Tuesday: BLT's with a side salad
Wensday: Biscuits and gravy (gotta use up the biscuits I got for .09 each at Target with $1/2 c's)
Thursday: Salad with chicken and bacon
Friday: Homeade meatballs/sauce
Saturday: Tuna and noodles( the only way I can get my son to eat fish and I put lots of vegs in it too)
Sunday: Sweet Glazed Ham, scalloped potatoes, and green beans ( I will take the leftover ham and make 3 more meals with it later on)

My main objective is to use my fresh produce up before it spoils and to use the items I get free or cheap to keep my shopping trips short, cheap, and sweet! Kellogg's Rice Krispy treats cheap!
We love these at our house but, with all the free and very cheap Rice Krispies we have from Vocal Point coupons we have been making these at home. You can print out a coupon good for $1/2 boxes here. These are on sale 10/18-10/24 at Walgreens for $1.75.
